Coming down to Galveston soon? Looking to go to the beach but unsure on which one to go to. Well if I had to narrow it down to two, it would be: Stewart and East Beach.
However, both of these beaches have certain amenities and beach rules that others may disapprove of, so today we will discuss the pros and cons of each beach to make the decision of where to go a little bit easier!
Stewart Beach
Family Vacation Critic voted Stewart Beach one of the top “10 Best Beaches for Families”. There are plenty of amenities for kids and adults to enjoy their day at the beach such as:
- Concessions
- Chair and Umbrella Rentals
- Beach Volleyball Courts
- Restrooms
- Showers
- Pavilion
- Sandcastle Competitions
- Concerts
There are however some rules that you must follow such as:
- No Alcohol
- 4-Wheelers, ATVs, and Dirt Bikes are not Allowed
- No Open Fires
- No Climbing the Dunes
- No Glass
Parking:
One thing that prevents people from revisiting Stewart Beach is the parking prices. It is $12 from Monday to Friday and $15 on Saturday and Sunday. Those with oversized vehicles must pay $30.
Overall, if you’re looking for a safe place for you and your family to enjoy the beach, Stewart Beach is the place to be.
East Beach
East Beach is less of a family-oriented beach and more of a party beach. There is usually loud music and many parties thrown here. A few of the amenities are:
- Playground for Children (surprisingly)
- Concert Stage
- Lifeguards
- Showers
- Restrooms
- Permitted/ Provided Alcohol
- Drinks and Food
- Bird Sanctuary
- Free Parking
As I stated earlier, this beach is more of a place for you and your friends to have a good time rather than a place to have a day at the beach with your family.
If you’re looking to have a peaceful day at the beach with your kids, then Stewart Beach is the way to go. However, if you’re coming down with friends, East Beach is the place to be.
Privacy
While going to the beach is nice, there’s one thing you don’t get out of it: privacy.
