Looking to take a cruise out of Galveston soon? Wanting to take a cruise that’s more family oriented and fun? Well if that’s the case, then Carnival Cruise Line is your best bet. Take it from me; an experienced cruiser. I’ve been on other cruise lines besides Carnival such as Norwegian and Royal Caribbean. Even as I have aged, Carnival is still be my all time favorite. Carnival isn’t the worlds most popular cruise line for nothing. Unlike the other cruise lines I’ve been on, Carnival has fun activities for people of all ages, from toddlers to the elderly. Today we will discuss why Carnival is your best bet for a fun cruise and why you should rent a beach house before your cruise.
1. Family-Friendly Cruising
As stated in the introduction, carnival has activities for all ages. Here are a few of the wide range of activities on the fleet:
- Water slide park and water slides
- Top deck sports facilities
- Miniature golf
- 4D theaters
- 24-hour pizza and ice cream
- Bingo
- Karaoke
- Spa
- Las Vegas Style shows
- Comedy shows
- Dancing
There is literally something to do on the hour every hour. Its really up to you on how and when you want to participate. There is also a kids and teens club, so you and your significant other can enjoy a relaxing date night while the fun for your kids doesn’t have to get put on pause.
2. Convenience
With the other cruise lines, there weren’t as many fun activities that were free and available for you to partake in every night. For instance you had to pay and reserve a seat for activities such as magic, comedy, or game shows. With Carnival, all you have to do is show up and enjoy! This trend was particularly the same with the dinner service on the other cruise lines. You had to call and reserve a table and if the restaurant was busy, you would just have to wait. Who wants to wait while you are on vacation? With Carnival, they have set reservations for you every night with the same waiter or waitress. And if you don’t want to eat at the main restaurant, you can always eat from their gigantic buffet on Lido Deck.
3. What do you have to Pay for?
The only things you will need to pay for are your excursions, drinks and gifts. The good news on drinks is you can buy a pass and pay one-time fee to unlimited drinks including alcoholic drinks.
4. Top of the Line Guest Experience
Carnival prides itself on targeting first time cruisers and turning them into customers who come back for more. One of the ways they achieve this goal is by giving guests excellent service. You will not meet a single worker with an attitude or frown on their face. They are always happy and excited to meet new people and they want you to have the best experience possible. Also, if you have a complaint about something, they will go out of their way to fix the issue. For example, our toilet was malfunctioning very late at night. We called to complain, and they sent the servicemen out there within five minutes to fix the issue. Not to say that the other cruise lines had terrible service, but with Carnival you will immediately feel the difference.
5. Explore Galveston Before the Cruise
Remember to come down to Galveston a few days before your cruise sails off to explore some of the many activities and historical districts the island has to offer. Here are some activities and places you can visit:
- Pleasure Pier
- The Strand
- Escape Room
- Haunted Houses
- Helicopter Tours

- Water Parks
- Galveston Ferry
- Jet Ski Rentals
- Surfing Lessons
