Visiting Galveston? Looking for some wonderful spots to show off your fishermen skills? If you are, you picked the correct island to stay at. Galveston happens to have many beautiful fishing spots to chose from. The two we will discuss today are Galveston Fishing Pier and 61st St. Fishing Pier. All these locations will provide you and your family a variety of fun and entertainment.
Galveston Fishing Pier

Galveston Fishing Pier is one of the more popular fishing destinations on the island. Here, anglers can catch a variety of fish such as the red snapper, redfish, blacktip shark, etc. Keep in mind it is $10 to fish, but with the ecstatic views and variety of fish to catch, the price is well worth it. What makes this site even better is that it is connected to a restaurant: Jimmy’s on the Pier. So, after a grueling day or railing in fish, you could settle down with some of the amazing seafood that the restaurant provides. If its your first time here, I would recommend trying their Crayfish Caso & a bowl of Clam chowder. Not to mention, their remoulade sauce goes great with just about everything! So, if you’re looking for a place to fish and have a marvelous meal after, the Galveston Fishing Pier is the place to be.
61st St. Fishing Pier

They have numerous amounts of shops where all the necessary equipment is available for you to either rent or purchase. Admission fees for adults are $10. Children ten and under get in for $6. You must pay $1 to bring your toddler along. Senior Citizens get in for $1 on Monday through Thursday from 6am-5pm. An important thing to remember is that they only accept cash, but they have an ATM on site if you need it. They are also open 24/7 from March to December. Their hours vary based on weather in those remaining months. To find more information, please visit their website.
In conclusion, both gorgeous fishing sites will provide a memorable time for you and your family. The next time you are in Galveston, drop by one of these places where you can make memories with your family that will last a lifetime.
