Nate's West End Seafood & Steaks

Local Restaurants on the West-End

Coming down to the west-end of Galveston soon? Looking for a nice restaurant to unwind and recharge after your long day out?

Now yes, we’ve all heard of the Chili’s and Wendy’s of the world, but what about dining in at one of Galveston’s” local” restaurants? It’s something you’ve never heard of before, so you can taste something you’ve never tried, and it also supports the local businesses in the city of Galveston.

Today we will talk about some local restaurants located on the west-end of Galveston that you should definitely take a chance on.

The West End Marina and Restaurants

The West End, which sits right near the Galveston Bay and located in the Sea Isle subdivision, offers upscale dining options such as flavorful steaks, fresh seafood, and much more. They also have a fine wine menu! For an appetizer, I would recommend trying the Pan-Fried Calamari and Peppers, which is served with sweet and spicy pepper sauce. It is very flavorfully and to die for! If you’re looking for a seafood plate, you must try the Gulf Snapper, which is served with grilled asparagus, rice pilaf, and citrus velouté sauce.

Another great seafood option is the Pan Seared Jumbo Scallops, which are served with saffron risotto. For all your meatheads out there, I would endorse trying the Beef Tenderloin, at a medium rare (my preference), as well as the Glazed Chicken Breast, which is served with creamy mushroom sauce.

The neat thing about this place is also has a general store where you can get some milk and other grocery items.

Nate’s Westend Seafood & Steaks

Nate’s is a restaurant with a very relaxed and low key vibe, with foods such as burgers, catfish and shrimps.

Crab Stuffed Jalapenos

A few appetizers I would recommend trying would have to be the 5 Crab-Stuffed Jalapeños and the 4 Shrimp Kisses, which are stuffed with jalapenos and mozzarella, and wrapped in bacon. A soup you should try which is my personal favorite, is the Homemade Gumbo. It has chicken, shrimp, sausage, and fresh white rice!

Now it is an absolute MUST, to try on the signature burgers, which has put Nate’s on the map in Galveston as a dining area with exquisite burgers. The Works Burger is served with two half pound patties, pickles, lettuce, tomato, mustard, mayo, grilled onions & mushrooms and cheese. The BSM Burger is served with bacon, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, mayonnaise and mustard. Good luck finishing those monster burgers!  This place is locally known for their burgers so be sure to try one!

Conclusion

As you can see, both of these local restaurants are very good options on a hungry night. Not only do they have exquisite food, but by you eating there, you are supporting the local economy by helping these small businesses thrive. So, go on and give one of them a try. You will definitely want to come back.
